HE

Bruno Elevteros Libert

I have been involved with music for most of my life, from my childhood in Africa till the present day (I now live alternately in Brussels and in Patmos, Greece), playing piano, keyboards, flute and a cornucopia of instruments from all over the world.

Since the mid-60s I have been composing and recording music; playing in rock and prog-rock bands touring Europe and the UK, as well as in jazz combos; taking part in theatre shows and improvisation groups; recording songs with my children; creating soundscapes and music for exhibitions and advertising agencies and producing other musicians.

At the end of the 70s I started recording my music and setting up a home, and later, a project studio. Since then I have composed and recorded hundreds of pieces covering a wide stylistic palette ranging from simple melodic songs to complex experimental compositions.

In the early 90s I started to collaborate with Diane, who has been a great inspiration and a constant driving force behind my musical quest. It is also around that time that I first set foot on the beautiful island of Patmos in the Dodecanese. I simply fell in love with the place which has become a home and a wonderful source of inspiration where I finally started to put down roots and where Diane and I spend as much creative time as possible.

SHE

Diane Sutherland

Music has always been one of the most important forces in my life and I have been singing for as long as I can remember. In the various countries I have lived in I have taken part in many choirs, vocal ensembles, theatre and operetta companies, whether as a chorus member or as a soloist. I regard performing as a gift of love to the audience, a way of celebrating our common humanity, of sharing our hopes and dreams.

Since 1993 I have collaborated with Bruno on all his musical projects. My contribution, apart from the actual singing, has included improvising most of the melodies and texts that I sing, writing song lyrics and other texts, designing and painting our CD covers and painting and drawing illustrations to accompany the different musical projects, as well as being the primordial listener of Bruno’s compositions.

I am also pursuing self-expression through the visual arts, mainly through painting and drawing, but including the collection and assembly of natural objects and collage.

  1. Hi Diane,
I have just read the news from Christine Wantiez, it’s terrible, I feel so sorry.
